Identifying and responding to victims of human Trafficking in a clinical setting

Join our Human Trafficking Prevention workshop with Kiara Rodriguez from Unbound Now.

Kiara Rodriguez is a Fort Worth native with over 4 years of experience working with survivors with trauma. She has focused on the issue of human trafficking since graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 2015. Kiara is excited to be a part of Unbound Now’s team as their outreach specialist raising awareness for human trafficking in her own community.

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand different types of human trafficking and their local, statewide and international prevalence.

2. Identify potential signs of human trafficking in victims who present for care in a medical setting.

3. Understand who should participate in a multi-disciplinary care model for victim identification and recovery. 

4. Discover immediate healthcare needs of identified victims.

5. Develop ability for trauma-informed response. 

6. Learn about available resources for victim service and aftercare.
