The ABCs of Ethics for LPCs and LMFTs with Dr. Jodie elder

Join Dr. Jodie Elder for an engaging discussion focused on applying the most recent LPC and LMFT rules and ethics codes in the counseling and marriage and family therapy worlds. Dr. Elder will help you get up to date on the LPC Counseling Compact and similar interstate practice efforts in the MFT field, as well as learn how to advocate for your clients and your profession in the spring 2025 legislative session!

This will be a hybrid presentation with the in person session happening at Northaven Church in Dallas and the online portion on Zoom happening simultaneously. We will also be joined in person by A Sisters Legacy and Journey of Hope!

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will distinguish between the Texas Occupations Code, the Texas Administrative Code, and Codes of Ethics

  • Participants will identify 3 ways to stay abreast of licensing board rule changes

  • Participants will identify rule changes being proposed in the quadrennial rule review.

  • Participants will identify at least three new rules passed by BHEC member boards

  • Participants will develop an advocacy action plan
